General Description: The Marketing & Communications Intern will support the communications needs of the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History. The role resides in the Advancement Department and reports to the Marketing & Communications Manager and the Chief Advancement Officer. The intern’s primary focus will be on content production and distribution of digital communications working across the Museum’s digital platforms, including social channels, e-newsletters, and the website. This hand-on role coordinates the updating of ongoing posts, videos, and other digital content. Further, the role supports the organization’s print communications efforts to help promote the Museum’s programs, exhibitions, and brand across the state.

Qualifications: The incumbent should have experience in marketing, communications, or journalism. This summer internship requires excellent writing and proofreading, verbal, interpersonal, and computer skills. An appreciation of history and the cultural landscape of Connecticut is a plus.

Schedule and location
28 hours per week. Tuesday-Thursday 9am-5pm in-office in Hartford, CT, plus one day remotely. Mid-May through mid-August.
Compensation
$17.00 per hour (estimated $6,188 gross for the season)
