Scope of Work

The Promotional Event Coordinator oversees the America 250 | CT Commission’s presence at sponsored fairs, festivals, and other public events. This is a temporary role through summer and early fall of 2026 and requires frequent travel as well as evening and weekend hours.

This work will support CT Humanities (CTH) in its role as administrative agent and fiduciary of the state’s 250th commission, adhering to state regulations for a public commission and communicating with CTH staff and commission members.

 

Deliverables

Support public presence for 250th commission

  • Transport tabling materials to fairs, festivals, and other public events (i.e., promotional materials, 10’x10’ pop-up tent, folding tables, signage)
  • Set up & break down tabling materials
  • Staff 250th tables and provide a public presence at 250th events, with support from CTH staff and volunteers using talking points from CTH
  • Provide weekly updates on inventory of tabling kit(s) and needed items and requests for updates to talking points

Coordinate volunteers

  • Communicate with and coordinate schedule of volunteers, including managing presence at events
  • Train volunteers on talking points, tabling etiquette, and specific requirements for individual events

 

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and car for in-state travel: 90%
    • Mileage reimbursed
  • Attendance at fairs, festivals, and other public events throughout the state
  • Availability to work frequent evenings and weekends, including federally recognized holidays and holiday weekends (Juneteenth, July 4th, Labor Day, Indigenous Peoples’ Day)
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds and walk up to one-mile with wagon and/or cart
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
